Is it possible to play online Pc Games in wifi connection?

Like COD Modern Warfare or some other modern games, if i ever have a wifi or a descent wifi connection and a playable PC, would it work well?.. Or would i be getting alot of lag compare to DSL2 and cable?

I do it all the time with Combat Arms. So I would imagine it would work with other games as well. Unless the speed through the router is too little to game. But it’s fine on my system with a Linksys Wireless G router and cable internet.
